Why are the annual accounts unavailable?
The reason matters. Your first financial year may not have ended. Your bookkeeping may be current while the final accounts are still being prepared. Or older figures may not reflect your present business activity.
Explain which applies and how up to date your records are. This helps us discuss what an application needs. For a new business, see our financial lease guidance for start-ups.
Which other information may help?
Interim results
An up-to-date overview of income and expenses helps show how the business is performing this year. State the period covered and whether your accountant prepared it.
Business bank transactions
These can help the lender assess receipts, regular expenses and payment patterns. Bank transactions are not the same as profit figures. They provide different information.
Tax returns and current assignments
VAT returns or confirmed assignments may provide supporting evidence. A VAT return alone does not show your profit. An assignment does not mean the money has already been received.
Existing commitments
Other finance agreements, leases and regular payment obligations matter. The new monthly payment must fit alongside them.
You do not automatically need every item listed here. The lender decides what your application requires and may still request final annual accounts.
How can you make the application clearer?
Make sure the application and supporting information describe the same situation. For example, explain a recent change in activities or why the last few months differ from an earlier year.
Choose a car whose purchase price, finance payment and running costs fit your business. A down payment reduces the amount financed, but does not replace an affordability assessment. A lower purchase price does not guarantee acceptance either.
To explore a starting point, use the financial lease calculator. Its result is an estimate, not an offer of finance.
How can you start without sharing too much information?
Send the vehicle link, explain how long you have been trading and say which figures are available. Identity documents and bank statements are not needed for that first conversation.
We then discuss what the lender requires and how to provide it. Do not use the general contact form to send sensitive documents.
Questions about applying without annual accounts
Does this mean there is no BKR check?
No. Missing annual accounts does not determine which other checks take place. These depend on factors such as the lender, legal structure and application. We do not promise finance without checks. BKR is the Dutch credit registration organisation.
Is turnover alone enough?
More information is usually needed to understand affordability. Turnover does not show the expenses and commitments that still need paying. The lender decides what evidence is sufficient.
What if the lender asks for full accounts after all?
They are then required for that assessment. We explain what is missing. We cannot promise another route will accept the same application without that information.
